Now we’re crying a river… Justin Timberlake has sparked hope of a reunion - of sorts - for pop’s original teenage sweethearts.

Justin met Britney Spears when they starred together in Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club aged 11 and little did the pair of them know that they were destined to fall in love just five years later.

After Justin joined NSYNC and Britney released Hit Me Baby One More Time, the blossoming pop stars got together.

Three years later they broke hearts when they dramatically split.

Fast forward 15 or so years, they both have kids with other people and they have rarely crossed paths since they split, but Britney, 34, dropped a bombshell in the media last month when she revealed she wants to work with with the 35-year-old musician.

Now, Justin has confirmed he would love to step into the recording studio with his ex and admitted he is “accessible”.

Asked if he had heard Britney has requested to work with him, the Can’t Stop The Feeling singer told E!: “She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely. I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news. I apologise for not being in the know … I’m accessible, give us a call!”

The news comes after the blonde beauty was asked which artists she would most like to collaborate with, and cited her former beau as “very good”.

She said: “Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good…”

We’re SO excited.
