Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has revealed the Italian giants would be open to reunions with Paul Pogba and Alvaro Morata as the duo’s future comes under the spotlight.

Speculation linking Pogba with a Manchester United exit has increased in recent days, particularly after the French midfielder was substituted in the second half of Sunday’s defeat to West Brom.

After a bright start Morata has struggled to impress at Chelsea, scoring just two goals since the turn of the year. The Spanish striker has made no secret of how much he enjoyed his two years in Italy, which ended when Real Madrid activated a buy-back clause in 2016 before selling him on to the Blues for £57million a year later.

Though buying one, let alone both, of the Premier League duo would be a significant drain on Juventus’ summer resources it is not one that Marotta is ruling out.

“A return for Pogba or Morata? I don't believe in returning horses, but there are exceptions,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“They can be two exceptions, they are two good guys who have left good memories here. But the stories they have concocted in Madrid and Manchester are false.

“Did we spend €90 million on Higuain? When Pogba left, it was an extraordinary expense. But we have a lot of imagination, besides the names of Pogba and Morata.”

Pogba joined Juventus on a free in 2012 before leaving for a then-world record £89.3m four years later. La Vecchia Signora’s dealing on Morata were similarly impressive as they made an £8m profit when he returned to Madrid after two seasons in Turin.
