K-pop fans force fellow passengers to disembark plane after meeting their favourite band on-board

Passengers on a flight from Hong Kong to Seoul were forced to disembark when four K-pop fans demanded to be allowed off the aircraft shortly before take-off.

The fans had bought tickets on the flight in order to meet their favourite K-pop stars who were on their way back from an awards show.

The band, who have not been named, allegedly performed at the M-net Asian media Awards on December 14.

Industry sources told the Korea Times that the four passengers had booked two first-class seats, one business and one economy in order to get a closer look at their favourite band.

They were all in their 20s, one from Hong Kong and three from China.

According to reports, they were carrying signs and posters of the group.

The fans rushed to find the band despite warnings from cabin crew.

After meeting the band, the four fans insisted on being removed from the flight.

Because of this, all 360 passengers including the group, were forced to disembark the aircraft and go through screening again.

The flight was delayed for around an hour.

According to reports, Korean Air gave all four fans a refund.

An official told news.naver.com that there have been previous incidents of fans buying airplane tickets in order to meet their favourite celebrity at the departure gate.
