K-Pop star Goo Hara has been found dead, aged 28.

The singer was a former member of the K-Pop group Kara, which she had been a part of since 2008 before embarking on a solo music career.

While the cause of her death is still under investigation (via BBC news), Goo Hara was hospitalised in May this year.

She had previously allegedly attempted suicide, which she addressed before a series of comeback performances over the past few months.

"I am sorry for causing concerns and a commotion," Goo Hara previously told Sankei Sports.

"In terms of health, I am recovering ... I had been in agony over a number of overlapping issues."

Goo Hara's death comes a year after she took a former boyfriend to court following his threat to release footage of the couple having sex, which was allegedly filmed without her consent.

It also follows another K-pop star, Jonghyun, dying by suicide at the age of just 27 in 2017 and K-pop band Twice member Mina pulling out of the band's world tour over her own mental health struggles.
