Kai Havertz's two-goal heroics for Bayer Leverkusen on Monday night only further highlighted that he is "destined for bigger things", according to team-mate Lukas Hradecky.

The 20-year-old shone in his first Bundesliga match for over two months following the coronavirus pandemic as Leverkusen took on Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion.

Havertz showed no signs of rustiness as he bagged a brace in the first half with two fine headers as the visitors strolled to a 4-1 away success to move within a point of fourth-placed RB Leipzig.

Speculation persists that Havertz will be leaving his boyhood club this summer, and Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes admitted last month that it was a "logical" scenario if their £100million price tag is met.

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly among several European clubs interested in the forward, who has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, along with Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

And Havertz's team-mate, goalkeeper Hradecky, hinted the attacker deserves a big move should it materialise.

"That was something other than a normal performance from Kai Havertz," Hradecky told beIN Sports.

"He's a star in the making and we're happy he is here... hopefully it's not the last season he will be with us.

"But I do think he is destined for bigger things."

If Havertz does decide to leave the BayArena, Leverkusen legend Jens Nowotny believes he could become a "world-class" player under the guidance of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
