Strictly Come Dancing's Kai Widdrington 'snubbed' by BBC bosses after co-star split
Strictly Come Dancing viewers have hit out at producers for 'snubbing' Kai Widdrington and not giving him a partner, with the move coming just 12 months after his now ex and fellow pro, Nadiya Bychkova suffered the same date.
Kai made the Strictly final in his first year as a dancer on the BBC show, only for disaster to strike when his partner AJ Odudu picked up a nasty injury in rehearsals and had to watch from the sidelines as Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice won. Things didn't go well for Kai year later, when he and Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams were the first couple to be voted out of the ballroom, before Kai bounced back by winning the 2023 Christmas special.
Last year Kai was paired with Angela Rippon, with the couple being the 'surprise' package of the competition and getting much further than viewers at home and they themselves probably expected, with them going onto do the Strictly arena tour.

This year saw Kai and Nadiya break up after a two year romance and now, just like Nadiya last year, Kai, while on the Strictly pro line-up for 2024, doesn't have a partner, with him not featuring at all as the couples were revealed on the launch show.
In an unexpected turn of events, even Neil Jones, who fans complain 'never gets a partner' did get one, with him being aired with Toyah Wilcox, as Kai was left out in the cold along with Carlos Gu and Lauren Oakley, both of whom had partners last year. And the decision did not go down well with plenty of viewers taking to X to complain.
One fumed: "Giving Neil a partner instead of Carlos and Kai?! WTF EXPLAIN NOW! That's Strictly treason" as another reacted: "Kai not getting a partner this year is completely baffling and a third ranted: "Kai not having a partner this year is not acceptable to me"
