Kaleb Cooper has told how he enjoyed a rare night out of Chipping Norton at the farming world's answer to the Oscars – where he was chauffeured by Jeremy Clarkson.

The Clarkson's Farm star had famously never left Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds before season one of the Prime Video show, in which he tries to show Clarkson the ropes of farming life.

He was sent to London for one episode, and has now revealed a glamorous night out at the British Farming Awards which included a trip to Birmingham to receive a gong for flying the flag for British agriculture.

Cooper's efforts for the event included getting a new haircut and being driven to the red carpet by none other than Clarkson himself.

Describing the awards as "amazing", he said: "I went and got my hair done especially because it’s an important thing. Of course, you’ve got to have your hair done before you go to the British Farming Awards!

"I had this new style of hair, actually. I had tramlines put into the side of my hair."

But that wasn't where the showbiz lifestyle ended for Cooper.

He said: "Jeremy drove me up there in a Lamborghini because it was my first time going to Birmingham. I’m slowly getting more travelled now, being with Jeremy. It’s quite exciting. You’ve got to face your fears head on, and you’ve got to run at them, you know?

"Anyway, Jeremy drove me to Birmingham, and I made him drop me off at the red carpet, while he went and parked the car."

Cooper added of his famously volatile relationship with Clarkson: "We had a bit of an argument, but he did it in the end.

"I got out on the red carpet, everyone followed me in, and then he trailed in afterwards like my chauffeur."

Farm manager Cooper said the ceremony had been his dream night out: "It was all farmers, so we just started talking farming. I love talking farming. I mean, to be sat with all those farmers was amazing."

It has recently been reported that Amazon will part ways with Clarkson after the already-commissioned coming seasons of Clarkson's Farm and The Grand Tour.

There was some speculation that it had been prompted by his controversial Sun column where he wrote that he "hated" Meghan Markle, although other reports claim it is because the shows are too expensive to make.

Clarkson’s Farm season two launches on Friday, 10 February on Prime Video.
