West made the statement while poking fun at his backlash, as he returned to Instagram on Thursday, after being blocked from the social media platform.
The rapper penned a message to Hollywood agent giant Ari Emanuel, who urged for companies to sever ties with the artist, as he addressed his backlash over his rants.
West captioned: “LOVE SPEECH”, as he wrote: “Ari Emanuel, I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am.”
Emanuel is Jewish and considered the one of the most influential men in the entertainment industry. In an op-ed for the Financial Times, he called for companies to “stop working with [West]”, as there should be “no tolerance for [his] anti-Semitism”.
The Endeavour co-CEO added: “Silence is dangerous. It allows forms of hatred and racism, including anti-Semitism, to spread and become normalized. It coarsens and degrades our society and country.”
West went on to poke fun at his backlash, as he posted the fake headline: ‘Ye Has Reportedly Cut Ties With Kanye West’. He added in the caption: ‘Had to cut ties bro.’
Rapper 50 Cent re-posted his own version of the joke headline, which read: ‘Curtis Jackson has reportedly cut ties with 50 Cent’, adding in the caption: “I’m getting rid of anybody who can get me fvcked up like kanye right now! LOL.”
West reshared 50 Cent’s meme after deleting his own post, as he suggested the pair work together to bring his Donda Academy to 50 Cent’s home of Houston, Texas.
The rapper wrote: “We got Donda school designs we need to build with 50 in Houston.”
This comes after West’s school, located in southern California, announced it closing this week, following the rapper’s anti-Semitic remarks.
Principal of Donda Academy Jason Bell notified student parents in an email viewed by The Times of the school’s shut down with immediate effect.
