Kanye West is doing ‘much better’ two days after being hospitalised

Kanye West is reportedly on the mend after suffering a “psychotic break” for which he was hospitalised on Monday afternoon, though those closest to him are said to still be “trying to wrap their heads around what is going on.”

According to a new report, the 39-year-old rapper is “doing much better” following the reunion with his wife, Kim Kardashian, who has remained by his side throughout his recovery at UCLA Medical Centre, north of Los Angeles.

Kanye is said to have been taken to hospital “for his own health and safety” earlier this week after suffering from “severe sleep deprivation” which led to the cancellation of his Saint Pablo Tour.

Sharing an update on his condition, a source told Entertainment Tonight: “He just needed some rest. [Kim] is currently with Kanye right now at his side. Kim feels more connected to Kanye than ever. Their marriage is doing great.

However, despite being on the road to recovery, another insider told People magazine that Kanye’s family are “taking it day by day” as “a lot is still up in the air” as he undergoes treatment for a “combination” of health problems including “stress, anxiety and paranoia.”

They said: “He understands that getting help at the hospital was necessary. He is resting and getting help. They are taking it day by day.

They added that those closest to him are “still trying to wrap their heads around what is going on”, explaining: “Kanye was not in a good place when he checked into the hospital. A lot is still up in the air.”

The news of Kanye’s recovery comes after Kim – with whom he shares two children, North, three and Saint, 11 months – was forced to fly back to LA after hearing of her husband’s hospitalisation.

The reality star had planned to make her first public appearance, since she was the victim of a horrific armed robbery, on Monday night at Denise Rich’s Angel Ball, in honour of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

However, she instead opted to return to LA so that she could be by her husband’s side.

Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner said on the red carpet of the star-studded soiree: “I think he’s exhausted. Just really tired. It’s a gruelling tour.”
