Stop what you’re doing, we have some very important news.

The self-proclaimed “greatest living rockstar on the planet” (his words, not ours), Kanye West, has finally joined Instagram – and we have a feeling that this is going to be great.

The move seemingly comes after months of consideration, with Kanye revealing back in March that he was contemplating whether or not he should join the image-sharing site, writing at the time: “My tweets are a form of contemporary art only comprised by people trying to tell me what to tweet and not to tweet…

“On another note… I was thinking about getting an Instagram but only on one condition…. No one can ask me or try to tell me what to Instagram… It’s my art… [sic]”‘

Yikes – at least it looks as though ‘Ye trusts his fanbase to not question his art, eh?

So far the star has only uploaded one rather artistic image to his account and has amassed 853k followers, but he still doesn’t follow anybody, not even his wife, Kim Kardashian.

Kim will no doubt be guiding Kanye on the social media site as she is the undisputed queen of Instagram, famed for her risque selfies and daily documenting of her glamorous lifestyle, which she shares with her 83million followers.

In fact, the mother-of-two recently admitted that she took 6,000 selfies on a recent holiday to Mexico, claiming that in the four-day break she managed to snap 1,500 photos of herself a day.

We’re not sure if Kanye is going to be quite as selfie-happy as his Mrs., but we’re looking forward to seeing what kind of “art” he posts either way.
