Kara Tointon has confirmed she is expecting her second child, another baby boy.

The former EastEnders star and her fiancé Marius Jensen are already parents to son Frey, who turns two in November.

"I think this year has brought so many things in different ways. At the beginning of the year I was due to start a play, and now I am at home in a little cocoon and pregnant," she told Hello! Magazine.

"We really wanted a sibling for Frey. So we said, 'If it happens, it happens. Let's go with the flow,' and it happened much quicker than we expected," she added.

"I did the test in May. We weren't shocked but it was a surprise, and we feel so lucky."

The couple had plans to wed in Jensen's native Norway this year but the coronavirus pandemic has led to them delaying their nuptials.

In an interview back in July, Tointon told OK! Magazine: "It’s going to happen, but probably not this year now. We’re both quite last minute people and don’t overthink these things. So I think it will probably be a quick 'let’s just do it' moment.

Tointon is best known for her role as Dawn Swann in BBC soap EastEnders, which she starred in from 2005 to 2009, but has also enjoyed success on stage too.

She can count herself as a Strictly Come Dancing champion as well after winning the 2010 series.

The actor dated her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev for a number of years following a split from soap co-star Joe Swash.
