Kate Beckinsale: 'I'm dating Trevor McDonald NOT taking cocaine'

Kate Beckinsale has joked she is dating Sir Trevor McDonald after dreaming that her daughter had been taking cocaine.

The Widow star has shared a text conversation with her daughter Lily Sheen, 20, on social media, in which the actress asked her daughter, “Are you doing a lot of cocaine?”

Sheen - whose father is Good Omens star Michael Sheen - reassured her mother she was taking “zero” cocaine, only for her mother to reveal she had had a dream about her daughter going on a drugs binge.

In response to reports that her own drug use had been called into question Beckinsale wrote: “If you replaced my first text with ‘Are you dating Trevor McDonald?’, based on a dream, I don’t think anyone would extrapolate that she was, or that I was, or that we both were.

The Underworld actress then went on to joke she is dating 79-year-old news reader Sir Trevor.

She added: “I am in fact dating Trevor Macdonald and I like to keep it discreet which is why I didn’t post about it on instagram. PS when the text is blue , it’s me . Right , off to sext Trevor. [sic]”

Beckinsale was previously dating 25-year-old comedian Pete Davidson, but they split in April after a three month romance.

The actress was first linked to the Saturday Night Live cast member when they were spotted leaving a Golden Globes part in January. They then went public when they were pictured kissing at a New York Rangers ice hockey match in March. At around the same time Beckinsale deleted all previous posts on her Instagram account.

Prior to that she dated another stand-up comic Matt Rife, 23, for about a year in 2017.

Beckinsale was previously married to Underworld director Len Wiseman from 2004 to 2015 and was in a relationship with Sheen for eight years. They split in 2003 but have remained friends.
