Kate Beckinsale reveals why she was hospitalized for 6 weeks, slams hateful commenters
"l'm not really concerned about what you think about my ass," the actress fired back at one online troll.
Kate Beckinsale is opening up about some recent challenges she's been dealing with in her personal life — and she has no patience for negativity in her comment sections.
The Underworld star, 50, posted a video of herself in a revealing outfit Monday on Instagram, which caused a few of her followers to comment on her apparent weight loss. "Go do some squats @katebeckinsale I think ur ass ran away," one particularly rude commenter opined.
Beckinsale used the opportunity to put the commenter in their place, and also discussed what her life has been like over the past year.

"Actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly," the actress wrote in a reply. "And then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father."
She continued: "So l'm not really concerned about what you think about my ass. Maybe you should worry about your own f---ing ass. I suggest shoving something up it — like a large pineapple or a brick."
Beckinsale had previously mourned the loss of her stepfather, director Roy Battersby, on social media in January, and she has spoken about her mother's medical condition over the last year. She had not, however, publicized the reason for her time in the hospital until now.
In another comment, the actress said that her health is "great now," and in yet another, she noted that most of her social media followers are supportive. "I love my followers," she wrote. "I really do — some of them are such incredible decent supportive brilliant souls of me and of each other. I actually have a problem with two people who keep making multiple accounts so don't be fooled."

Additionally, after another commenter likened Beckinsale to a gnome, she responded, "The LOL of your bio picture being an actual gnome living its best life in the forest has given me so much life. I can’t tell you." She added, "Please go gather some more nuts and berries."
