Kate Beckinsale SLAMS troll who questions her 'dating choices' as she's linked to Pete Davidson

Kate Beckinsale had a sharp-tongued response for one Instagram troll who criticised her rumoured “dating choices.”

The actress, who regularly replies to online trolling with barbed comments of her own, shared a selfie on her Instagram profile, complete with a light-hearted caption about studying biology at school.

“Here’s what I got from give years of biology class: ‘mollusc’ is Latin for ‘soft flesh’ and how to identify and label a urethra. Neither has kicked in yet as useful as of today,” she wrote.

While the star’s fans praised the shot as “beautiful,” one follower took the chance to condemn Beckinsale’s rumoured romance with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson.

“Disappointed in your dating choices,” they wrote.

The 45-year-old quickly hit back with a sharp retort, telling the troll: “Fairly let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say.”

Her Instagram followers rushed to support her, with one claiming that she should “date who [she] want[s],” writing: “IDK what everyone is freaking out about, especially since they don’t even know Pete and your dating life is none of their business?”

“On the other hand I’m totally thrilled with your dating choices since we are all sharing,” another supporter said.

“She’s also a very successful grown woman, I’m pretty sure she can make her own decisions,” another comment read.

Beckinsale has form when it comes to deflecting enquiries into her personal life on social media, having previously offered a witty response when one follower quizzed her about her latest rumoured romance.

“Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson,” they commented on a throwback snap of the actress’s model mother, Judy.

“No that’s my mother. Easy mistake,” she hit back.

Davidson and Beckinsale sparked dating rumours at the start of the year, when they were reportedly spotted “leaving” a Golden Globes after-party.

Shortly after, the pair were photographed holding hands following Davidson’s comedy show in Los Angeles.

The comic was previously engaged to Ariana Grande, but broke up with the singer in October.
