Kate Bush: Running Up That Hill reaches number one in UK

Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush has reached number one on the UK Singles Chart 37 years after its release. 63-year-old Bush has become the oldest female artist to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart. The record was previously held by the legendary Cher who was 52 when her hit single Believe reached number one on the chart in 1998. The singer broke the record for the longest gap between number one singles as it’s been 44 years since Wuthering Heights was number one. She also broke the record for the longest time taken for a single to reach number one. Cher congratulated the singer on Twitter saying, “Bravo Kate, records are meant 2 be broken!!”. Remember back in the day, when women had short sell-by dates We had to fight our way through the testosterone curtain, and we did it so the girls who came after us could sing as long as they want to, Cher. She finished the message by saying that she has “mega respect” for Bush.
