Kate Forbes refuses to say whether she will ban conversion therapy by both coercion and consent
Kate Forbes refused to confirm whether she would ban conversion therapy both by coercion and consent if she were elected as leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
The finance secretary previously told the End Conversion Therapy Scotland campaign group that she "in principle" supported making sure there are no exemptions under a ban based on therapy carried out by "consent."
When pressed by Sky News journalist Beth Rigby, Ms Forbes said she would ban conversion therapy but did not confirm it would be prohibited both if a person was coerced into therapy or consented to it.
