Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway shared her favourite way to keep cool during the UK heatwave.

As Britain swelters, weather presenter Laura Tobin revealed the UK could experience record overnight temperatures, which led to presenters Kate and Adil discussing the muggy weather on Tuesday's show.

Kate revealed she has tried plenty of tricks to keep herself cool at night, saying: ‘I’ve been sleeping terribly because it’s too hot and muggy. I tried dipping my bed sheet in water, it does work a bit but then you get too chilly,’ she explained.

However, the hack she stands by is putting water into a hot water bottle and keeping it in the freezer before taking it to bed, saying, ‘It does help, definitely.’

GMB’s Dr Sarah Jarvis, who was also on the show and asked about her tips for keeping cool, recommended a cool shower and then "allow the water to evaporate off your skin".

She continued: "They stole my idea about the cold hot water bottles.

"But please don't forget, never put ice directly onto your skin because that can cause ice burns.

"Put a cool flannel around your neck, and possibly put sheets in the freezer. But again not risking any ice burns, can help," she added.
