Kate Garraway fans rally to retrieve Derek’s vital medical supplies she left in a cab
Kate Garraway has thanked fans who helped her get back husband Derek Draper's vital medical supplies lost in a black cab after an urgent appeal.
The Good Morning Britain presenter was bringing Draper home from hospital for a weekend visit, but tweeted on Friday that she had left a case including all of his much-needed medicines and kit in the black cab they had been travelling in.

She wrote: "@BC_Lostproperty help!! Have just brought derek home in a mobility black cab from hospital for a weekend visit -& have left a case with all his meds and kit in the front! The driver recognised me but may not know it’s there - please look & get in touch - need urgently!!"
Draper spent a year in hospital after becoming the UK's worst-affected surviving COVID patient and although he returned home earlier this year, he still needs round-the-clock care and regular hospital treatment.
Garraway's fans were quick to support her with suggestions on how to trace lost items and order emergency prescriptions, but luckily the message got to one fan who was able to locate the missing case.
They tweeted: "I know the driver Kate as he mentioned he'd taken you and your husband to me this evening. I'm trying to get in touch right now."

A relieved Garraway confirmed on Sunday that the fan's help had managed to get the urgent supplies returned, and also thanked the driver.
She tweeted: "It’s been returned! Thanks to all who reached out - the message got to driver lovely Robert who has returned it - phew and thanks to all. #happysundayeveryone"
One fan commented: "The power of Twitter."
Another added: "Absolutely incredible news Kate."
Garraway has written a book, The Power of Hope, about her family's experiences of being hit hard by COVID and has also made two ITV documentaries, Finding Derek and Caring for Derek, which have won awards.
She and Draper share two children and she has said she still feels hopeful that her husband will one day recover from his illness.
