Kate Middleton Broke Out Her Go-To Parenting Move Again

Kate Middleton dusted off her go-to parenting move yet again yesterday during a visit with Prince William to Bradford, Yorkshire, England.

While in Bradford, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with various faith and community leaders at Khidmat Centre and chatted with well-wishers along the way. In addition to revealing that Prince William, 37, doesn’t want any more children, Middleton, who recently celebrated her 38th birthday, pulled out a tried and true trick for conversing with children.

While accepting white roses from two kids wearing Yorkshire sweatshirts, the mother of three employed her go-to parenting technique to connect with them. And, just like always, it worked.

The duchess bent down so she could make direct eye contact with the mini-well-wishers during the event. By meeting the children eye-to-eye, the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t asserting dominance over them and is instead encouraging them to communicate openly and freely. Middleton’s efforts appeared to pay off since the young kids didn’t seem the slightest bit shy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have used this technique for years while out and about on official royal business. In fact, they even utilize the parenting hack when speaking with their own children, Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (1). Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also picked up the Cambridges’ trick and use it during royal events, as royal baby Archie is still a bit young for it.

Even though Prince William apparently isn’t on the royal baby number four train, at the very least their helpful tool for speaking to kiddos continues to come in handy.
