Kate Middleton has seemingly offered Prince Harry a touching olive branch in a lengthy public statement. The Princess of Wales, who has had a tense relationship with her brother in law Prince Harry amid his feud with Prince William, has issued a personal statement today (Sunday December 1).

The message, which was published late on Saturday night, echoes the Christmas service's theme and focuses heavily on "forgiveness", "empathy" and "love", with the princess appearing to be making a peace offering to the Duke of Sussex amid his bombshell memoir.

The Princess of Wales will deliver a heartful Christmas message about the importance of love – “the greatest gift we can receive” – to those attending her annual carol service. Kate has written a letter for the 1,600 Westminster Abbey carol goers, including members of the royal family, telling them “Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times”.

While the Princess of Wales has encouraged her husband to mend fences with his brother in the past, apparently she's over it—at least according to royal expert Christopher Andersen. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams noted that Kate is "is totally at one" with her husband over his handling of the drama—especially as Harry's memoir, Spare, is about to be released in paperback.

"Her focus, as she has said, is being 'cancer free,'" Fitzwilliams explained. "The Wales family has had a tremendously difficult year. She has finished her course of preventative chemotherapy. William, while carrying out some royal engagements, has been tremendously supportive… [But] Catherine will wish to avoid anything that promotes negative energy."

"The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish," the Andersen said on Fox News. "She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust. She did her bit, but it wasn't enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other."
