Kate Middleton and Prince William's 'new plans afoot' in US after charity reapplication
Prince William and Kate Middleton are making waves in the US once again, with news that they've renewed their Royal Foundation's trademark application stateside. Such a move has fuelled speculation about an upcoming charity initiative in the US.
The paperwork lodged with the US Patent and Trademark Office covers items such as "printed race numbers, clothing, footwear, headgear," suggesting possible charity events focusing on mental health could be in the pipeline. Despite the Princess of Wales easing back into her Royal engagements after cancer treatment, seasoned former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond urged caution in interpreting these developments.
Speaking to OK!, she said: "I don't think we should read too much into this, as it has been suggested this is more a case of housekeeping probably keeping the application within its legal time limits or something similar. There doesn't seem to be any imminent move to launch an American initiative.

"But the very fact that they want to keep the application viable does suggest that looking to the future, there may be new plans afoot. And that of course is positive", reports the Mirror.
In addition, she addressed any latent curiosity about transatlantic ambitions by asserting: "I certainly wouldn't want to put any kind of spin on the interest in moving into America. We shouldn't try to set up imaginary rivalries between William and Catherine /Harry and Meghan. They've got enough problems without us adding more unfounded speculation."
She additionally observed the potential influence wielded by the Royal couple in America, saying: "But William and Catherine are clearly very popular in the United States. I've no doubt that if the Foundation can help with the many issues surrounding mental health worldwide, then that support would be welcomed... and would carry with it a good deal of heft because of William and Catherine."
Kate, who is 42 years old, bravely revealed that she completed her chemotherapy for cancer. On Thursday, September 26, she made an emotional return to the spotlight, attending a matinee performance of 'Giselle' by the English National Ballet at Sadler's Wells Theatre.
Moved by the performance, the future queen expressed her admiration on Twitter, posting: "Congratulations and thank you to @ENBallet and @Sadlers_Wells for the wonderfully powerful, moving and inspiring performance of Akram Khan's Giselle. Creativity at its best! C".
Kate is also preparing to resume her Royal commitments, having announced earlier this week her intention to hold her yearly charity carol service at Westminster Abbey come December. The concert, titled ‘Together At Christmas’, is now in its fourth year and will be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve.
Additionally, Kate had her first meeting at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, September 18th, focused on Early Years, a cause aimed at supporting early child development – one of the Duchess's most treasured initiatives.
