The Duchess of Cambridge looked radiant in red last night as she joined her husband Prince William at the UK-Africa Investment summit at Buckingham Palace.

The mother-of-three chose to wear a sparkling ankle-length red gown from British high-end high street label Needle & Thread.

The sequin-embellished tulle gown, which features a ruffled neck and fluted sleeve, costs £410, and is still available to purchase in a few sizes online here.

Needle & Thread specialises in dresses and separates with intricate surface decoration at an accessible price point. Since launching exclusively with ASOS in April 2013, the brand has developed a loyal following for its ultra feminine designs, and is now stocked all over the world, including on Net-a-Porter, and in Harrods and Liberty in the UK.

Kate accessorised the look with a pair of Gianvito Rossi heels, which are currently on sale for £310 here.

The event was the Cambridge's first public appearance since a deal was announced by Buckingham Palace on Harry and Meghan's future plans.

And it came a day after Harry’s own moving and deeply personal comments on their decision to step back as working royals.

But despite the drama of the past fortnight, William and Kate were all smiles as they received a line of visiting Heads of State and their partners in the Music Room.
