Kate Middleton spending evenings making Prince William 'very British' treat
Kate Middleton has resorted to making Prince William a "very British" treat while in the kitchen. Prince William has a "favourite" dish and teatime treat, it has been revealed, with the Royal Family member partial to the iconic British meal.
Making Prince William his favourite dish is the couple's idea of a "perfect night", it has been claimed. Back in 2019, she revealed on an official engagement that she regularly cooks with her children, and they regularly rustle up Wills' favourite: roast chicken.
In 2012, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair of Kate: "In the evenings she indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favourite supper, roast chicken." When asked about his go-to dish at a charity cook-off event, Prince William admitted that although he’s not great in the kitchen, he likes to make “a roast. So a bit of roast chicken or a steak,” he said, according to People.

“I like it medium-rare. I like it quite alive.” E! reported in 2016 that “Kate would go to the supermarket and make William roast chicken dinner for when he got home from work. It was eye-opening for a man who had only ever been taught royal family values.”
Kate's skills extend far beyond chicken, too, because according to royal insiders and sources, there is a sausage-maker in their kitchen, and the Duchess makes homemade jam while Prince William is out on duty on the royal circuit.
According to World News Today, the Duchess has even gifted homemade chutney, made with squash, onions, apples, raisins, stoned dates, malt vinegar, brown sugar, salt, ginger, and mixed pickling spices.
A source told Vanity Fair magazine: "Some might say it's a little dull, but they love it. I saw William recently and he is so happy. They've grown out of clubbing and have no interest in parties. They just enjoy being together at home."
Another friend said: "Kate was on the King's Road not so long ago carrying a shopping bag with chicken in it that she was taking home to cook for William's supper. That's their idea of the perfect night."
