Kate Middleton spotted 'out and about' as Buckingham Palace issues warning

Princess Kate has been spotted out with her family in recent weeks as she commences preventative treatment for cancer, according to reports.

Kensington Palace has revealed that the royal offices have been flooded with "tens of thousands" of cards from well-wishers since the announcement of the Princess of Wales' diagnosis.

Officials have emphasised that Kate's public appearances should not be misconstrued as an indication of her health status, cautioning that she requires time and space for recovery, reports the Mirror.

In a heartfelt video message in March, Kate announced her withdrawal from public duties to concentrate on her recovery. Despite her absence from the public eye, concerned fans continue to send get well soon letters and cards.

The staff at the Court Post Office, responsible for handling all correspondence sent to the Royal Family, expressed being "so touched" by the outpouring of support throughout her fight against the disease. They also mentioned that the team has occasionally struggled to manage the sheer volume of mail as they endeavour to respond to everyone.

A spokesperson at Kensington Palace reiterated that Kate being seen "out and about" should not be mistaken for her resuming work. She recently underwent significant abdominal surgery and is presently receiving "preventive chemotherapy" for the condition.

Despite not having undertaken any public engagements this year, Kate remains active behind the scenes, focusing on a new report that urges businesses to adopt more family-friendly practices.

The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, which she spearheads, suggests that investing in early years could contribute over £45.5 billion annually to the UK economy.

Her spokesperson informed MailOnline: "The work of The Prince and Princess' projects is 'always on'...early childhood is a huge priority for The Princess and so she has been kept fully updated throughout the development of the Taskforce's work and she has seen the report."

A senior royal aide also stated: "The Princess of Wales was the driving force behind the business task force. She has been kept up to date since the inception of the task force and she has read the report and been briefed on it. This is a clear commitment she has made throughout her life of public service that this will be the focus."

They confirmed that her dedication would persist upon her return to duties, but emphasised that currently, the princess requires "space and the privacy to recover". Her comeback to work will be contingent on the "green light" from medical professionals, the spokesperson added.
