Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's tour of southern Africa started the month, and Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal tour of Pakistan continues it. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just arrived in Islamabad's Pakistani Air Force Base Nur Khan for the first day of their week-long tour. Kate wore a blue Catherine Walker ombre shalwar kameez for her first appearance as she and Prince William departed their plane.

The couple's schedule hasn't been revealed in advance and won't be for security reasons, officials told Express. A Kensington Palace statement painted the tour as education-focused: “Throughout the tour, Their Royal Highnesses will visit programs which empower young people, and organizations that help ensure they have the best possible start in life,” the Palace wrote. “Access to quality education, particularly to girls and young women is one of the UK’s top priorities in Pakistan. The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to spending time meeting young Pakistanis, and hearing more about their aspirations for the future.”

Kate and William's children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are not on the tour with them, according to People. A source described the tour as Kate and William's "most complex" yet because of the security and logistical considerations.

The events Kate and William attend this week are designed to showcase Pakistan as “a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation,” a Kensington Palace spokesman told People. “The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to spending time meeting young Pakistanis, and hearing more about their aspirations for the future.”
