Kate Middleton Wraps Up in a Crimson Alexander McQueen Coat at Waterloo Station

The Duchess of Cambridge's fashion has taken a festive turn.

Today, Kate and Prince William visited London's Waterloo Station, one of the sites of the "Hold Still" exhibition. The photography project was curated by the duchess herself, having hand-selected the show's final images back in September. The goal of the exhibition is to showcase the cultural standstill that occurred over the course of the coronavirus pandemic in the United Kingdom.

For the visit, Kate wore a crimson-red wool coat by Alexander McQueen, which she layered over a white blouse and black flowy midi skirt; she accessorized with black pumps and a leather top-handle bag. Upon arrival, the duchess wore her favorite floral-print face mask, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise across the country.

The "Hold Still" community exhibition follows the launch of the digital exhibition last month. Capturing the "spirit, hopes, fears, and feelings of the nation" amid the global health crisis, the 100 final portraits—selected from a pool of more than 31,000—will be exhibited on billboards and large-scale poster sites across the country, including at bus stops and train stations, for four weeks.

The duchess's Waterloo outing isn't her first brush with McQueen, of course. Just days ago, Kate wore a sleek black Alexander McQueen suit to announce her role in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition's virtual ceremony. Kate has been synonymous with Alexander McQueen since her 2011 royal wedding to Prince William where she wore a custom creation by the brand's head designer, Sarah Burton.
