Kate Moss launches modelling agency 'not for pretty' people
Kate Moss is looking for people who aren’t very “pretty” to join her talent agency.
That rules us lot out, then!
In a rare interview, the iconic British catwalk queen has revealed her new business venture will be up and running this month and she plans to manage the careers of rising stars who can model, dance, act and sing.
Kate sees herself becoming a well-connected and high-powered agent nurturing unknown talent, just like Faye Dunaway’s character does for Angelina Jolie’s in the 1998 hit movie Gia.
She told Business of Fashion: “It’s a dream! It’s so weird. You know that film Gia? Faye Dunaway plays the agent. I could so do that! But I want to focus more on managing people’s careers than just running a modelling agency. I don’t really want pretty people, I want people that want to sing and dance and act – I want to create stars …
“It’s a grown-up thing. I felt like I wanted to do things that were more than modeling. It didn’t matter how much we would try and do it together with them, I was always going to be the little Kate that they’ve known since I was 14.”
Kate, 42, was managed by Storm Models for 27 years and said it felt like “leaving home” when they parted ways.
She added: “It was like leaving home. I had to leave, and they were very understanding about it. They were like, ‘Yeah you’ve got to go now, we’ve done as much as we can do.’ I wanted to spread my wings.”
Her site is now live but it doesn’t tell us where to sign up. We’ll keep you posted!
