William and Kate enjoyed a low-key pub lunch in a countryside beer garden with their children at the weekend.

The couple gathered around a wooden table with Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

They showed they were down-to-earth as they enjoyed eating chips and burgers outside in the pub garden.

The family, who brought along their black spaniel, were out for the day in Norfolk enjoying the last of the summer sunshine on Sunday.

George looked casual in a T-shirt, shorts and trainers for the family lunch.

Onlookers said William ordered a burger and the royals looked relaxed in each other’s company.

The Duchess of Cambridge was enjoying family time after a whirlwind of royal engagements.

Recently, Kate visited Brize Norton in Oxfordshire to meet Afghan veterans and joined cadets in Lake Windemere.

Her most recent engagement saw the tennis fan meet US Open tennis champion Emma Raducanu for the first time in Roehampton.

Prince William was also busy with royal duties in recent weeks, including spending the day with emergency services in London.

A local told The Sun: “It would have been easy to miss them and just assume they were any other family. They were laughing and chatting and clearly enjoying each other’s company. They were eating outside, I suppose because it was easier for the children.

“There was no security around, just them chilling like any other family. Wills had a burger and chips. They had their pet dog, a spaniel with them, and they were all laughing. There was one particularly touching moment where one of the children got upset because their food was too hot.

“William was so fast to reassure them and sort them out. It was fantastic to see.”
