Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt reveals childhood Christmas accessory she's passing down to daughter Lyla

Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt is looking back on holidays past as she prepares for the new Christmas season.

The author, who just welcomed her first daughter Lyla with her husband Chris Pratt, took to her Instagram Story on Nov. 17 to share how her mother, journalist Maria Shriver, saved a special token from Pratt’s childhood. Gushing over a cute red and green bow featuring a reindeer, Pratt explained, “My mom saved all of my bows, and my sister’s bows, from childhood. This is obviously a Christmas bow from when I was little. And it still works.”

Calling the bow her "latest golden storage find," Pratt hit a button on the bow, which played a Christmas tune — more than two decades since she first wore it.

“This battery has lasted almost 30 years,” Pratt said as the music twinkled from the bow. “It’s incredible. Thanks mom!”

While Pratt won’t be sporting the hair accessory this holiday, the special memento will remain in the family. She captioned the Instagram Story, “I can’t wait to put this bow in my daughter’s hair this year.”

Pratt is notoriously tight with her mom, who shares four children with her ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger. She even gave Lyla the middle name Maria after her mother.

Earlier this year, Pratt gushed over Shriver in an interview with Today, explaining, “Every morning I wake up with a newfound respect for my mom," Pratt said. "I've always respected her tremendously, but I even texted her this morning because I was woken up this morning at 2 and I had my alarm going off at 3 to get ready for this, and I was just like, 'I can't believe you did this with four children.' And she does everything so beautifully and gracefully so I always have gained more respect for her, but I call her every single day with something, so it's just such a fun experience and a great time so far."

Recently, Shriver supported her son-in-law after he received backlash for an Instagram post in which he spoke about the love he has for his wife in what some — such as actress Busy Philipps — considered to be a patronizing manner.

“What a good man you are,” Shriver wrote in the comments of the Instagram post. “What a great father you are to Jack and Lyla, what a great husband you are to Katherine and what a great son-in-law you are to me and what a great sense of humor you have!!”
