Katie Holmes 'Was Banned From Public Dating For Five Years After Divorce'

Rumours of a romance between Katie Holmes and Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx have been doing the rounds for years now – and US gossip site Radar Online reckons it knows exactly why the pair still haven’t gone public.

According the reports, the Home and Away star’s divorce from Tom Cruise orders that she can’t ‘officially’ date until 2017 – some five years after their 2012 split.

“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” the source claims.

“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider continued.

“Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million (around £3.6 million) in child support, plus another $5 million (around £3.75 million) for herself.”

So, if Katie goes public with a new relationship before 2017, she stands to lose something in the region of $10 million. We’ll be expecting a big announcement sometime next year, then.

The actress’s long-term single status has certainly raised more than a few eyebrows over the years, and she recently swiped away questions about her love life with a stern “That’s not something I want to answer!”

Radar claims the actress has been seeing Foxx since way back in 2013, and Katie’s friend Claudia Jordan even seemed to confirm they were an item back in June before quickly backtracking.

Holmes was also spotted cheering Foxx during a performance at a Barbra Streisand gig in New York this year before later joining him in the dressing room. Keep hanging in there, Katie!
