Katie Holmes Says Quarantining with Daughter Suri Has Been ‘Such a Lesson’

Katie Holmes is letting us in on what life is like while quarantining with her daughter, Suri Cruise.

During a recent interview with Australia's The Daily Telegraph, the 42-year-old actress opened up about the last few months at home with the 14-year-old.

"I like to keep her out of my interviews, but I will say that this time of quarantine has been such a lesson," Holmes told the outlet. "Just really looking at everything you have and celebrating the simplicity of making dinner and [spending] that time together."

The Dawson’s Creek star is known for keeping her private life on the down-low, but that didn’t stop the actress from sharing a rare glimpse of her home—and Suri herself—in honor of her daughter’s birthday back in April.

She kicked things off with a snapshot of the birthday girl, who is sporting a Coachella-approved flower crown, and followed up with another photo—but this time, it featured the crafty “Happy Birthday” sign she made for Suri. She wrote, “Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!!!!!! I am so blessed to be your mom. May this year be incredible!”

In another rare interview last year, Holmes admitted that she’s ready to take on the prime teenage years.

“I love her so much,” she told InStyle. “My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able. And to know it. She came out very strong—she’s always been a strong personality.”

Quarantine doesn’t sound so bad in the Holmes household.
