Katie Price Forced To Miss Loose Women Appearance After ‘Medical Emergency’

Katie Price was forced to cancel her scheduled appearance on the Loose Women panel after suffering a ‘medical emergency’ backstage.

The 37-year-old had arrived at ITV studios in London this morning but started to feel unwell during a planning meeting for today’s programme.

Andrea McLean told This Morning’s Ben Shephard and Ruth Langsford that it had been “chaos behind the scenes” as a paramedic tended to the mother-of-five.

She explained: “You may notice that we are currently one woman short of a Loose Women panel. It’s because Katie Price had a medical emergency in our meeting room this morning.

"She is resting up in our sick bay with our medic and we’re now trying desperately to find someone who can take her seat in time.”

The Loose Women Twitter account also warned fans of the star that she might not make it on to the show today, tweeting: "Oh noes! It’s a bit touch and go whether @MissKatiePrice will make today’s show…..the nurses are tending to her….”

Unfortunately, Pricey wasn’t feeling much better by the time that the show came on air. Viewers saw her lying beneath a blanket as she explained that she was ill “at both ends”.

Although she hadn’t vomited for an hour, she understandably still felt sick and a medic advised her not to appear on the programme since the hot studio lights would make her feel worse.

During a short clip backstage, the medic informed Katie that her blood pressure was a bit on the low side and shared his recommendations: “Go rest, have fluids would be the best advice, not to sit under hot lights.“

Addressing the ladies of the panel, Katie jokingly remarked: "Don’t miss my banter too much.”

It is believed that the former glamour model is suffering from food poisoning, after a source close to Katie revealed: “She had sushi for dinner last night and has been feeling horrendous ever since. She spent most of the evening in the bathroom.

"She desperately wanted to go on Loose Women today but was terrifed of being sick on live TV.

"Katie had no choice but to pull out. Hopefully she’ll be back on her feet soon.”

Michelle Heaton, who was due to appear as a guest on the show, stood in for her pal.

The Loose Women anchor introduced Heaton, saying: “We needed someone to come in and who better than one of her good friends, who was actually due to be a guest on the show today anyway, so standing in for Katie Price and saving the day for Loose Women please welcome Michelle Heaton.”

Katie has needed the support of her friends recently as she has admittedly made a couple of blunders on the daytime television show.

Most recently she faced criticism after saying she would have ‘aborted’ her son Harvey had she known about his disability (video above).

Harvey suffers with a rare genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome, as well as autism, ADHD and blindness.

The star defended herself and clarified her comments just hours later when she tweeted: "I’m really upset people have taken out of context what I said on @LooseWomen today. Harvey is my life and I am so proud of him.”
