Katie Price opens up about 'proper love story' with ex-husband Peter Andre

Katie Price has opened up about her "proper love story" with ex-husband Peter Andre, who she met on the third series of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here back in 2004.

Price has admitted she “fixated” on singer Andre during their time in the Australian jungle.

The series was eventually won by Kerry Katona, but the series will be best remembered for sparking the romance between Price and Andre – which led to a lavish wedding and two children before they split in 2009.

Talking about the relationship on I’m A Celebrity – A Jungle Story on Sunday, 8 November, Price said meeting Andre helped her cope with being on the show.

She said "I was just fixated on Pete. People saw our relationship develop.

"Having Pete there in the jungle did make it easier because you'd fall asleep thinking of him and wake up seeing him there.

"If you haven't clicked with someone in there, I think it's quite hard and lonely.

"It was a proper love story and I think me and Pete are the only ones who had kids come out of it.

"I was 23, I had no idea I'd go into the jungle and meet my husband."

The couple went on to have a huge princess-themed wedding at Highclere Castle in Hampshire, and had children Junior, now 15 and and Princess, now 13, with Andre also being father to Price’s first child Harvey.

But the romance didn’t last, and they separated and divorced after a high-profile relationship that included a reality TV series and plenty of media attention.

I’m A Celebrity... returns to screens on Sunday (15 November) with contestants such as Shane Richie, Sir Mo Farah and Victoria Derbyshire braving the elements in a camp at a castle in Wales.
