Katie Price has said her mother “hasn’t got long left” as she battles terminal lung disease.

Amy Price, 69, was first diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in 2017 when doctors warned she could have as little as two and five years left to live.

IPF causes scarring on the lungs, which makes it hard for the body to take in oxygen, and gets worse over time.

Amy now uses an oxygen supply at home and is currently based in Spain where she hopes the warmer weather will help her condition.

In a short film for Steph’s Packed Lunch, Katie meets people suffering from a terminal illness and seeks advice from professionals.

“My mum is my absolute rock, my absolute best friend and to be told she’s got an incurable breathing disease breaks my heart,” she says.

“Sadly, she hasn’t got long left to live.”

The short film also shows Amy calling Katie during a therapy session with mindset coach, Will.

“My mum’s pretty strong, she’s accepted it, but she’s not one of these people who will dwell on it even though I know it’s on your mind,” she said.

Her mother coughs while saying: “I haven’t given up yet. I’ve got the accept the fact that I know I’m going to deteriorate.”

The reality star urged her to turn up the oxygen on her machine to stop the coughing but Amy responds by saying she’ll “be all right in a minute”.

Katie was quick to hit back, saying: “It’s because you don’t want to turn it up. That’s why - you don’t want to rely on it.”

The film comes months after Amy and Katie appeared on Good Morning Britain and spoke about how they have been dealing with the diagnosis and their relationship.

Speaking on the show Amy said: “What with Covid and everything, if I catch a cold or Covid there’s just no hope, so that would be the end of it for me.

“But I’m pushing to see if I can get on the transplant list, because there is no cure and there’s nothing else they can do for me really.”
