Katie Price said the events in the lead up to her drink-driving crash were “very traumatic”.

Before Christmas, the mother-of-five was handed a 16-week suspended prison sentence for drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance following a crash near her home in Sussex.

Speaking about the incident now, the former glamour model said she felt “ashamed” of the crash when she gave an interview to Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.

However, the 43-year-old TV personality admitted she wasn’t ready to talk about everything - just yet.

“The events leading up to it were very traumatic, I’m not ready to talk about it yet,” she told the presenters.

“There’s reasons why I got in that car, my mental state. I feel ashamed about it. When I’m ready to talk about it, I’ll come on here. I just think that people shouldn’t judge.”

Previously, she faced a warning she could end up behind bars at an earlier court hearing before Crawley magistrates.

At the time, her sentencing was deferred so she could receive treatment at The Priory.

Looking on the positive side, the make-up mogul discussed her high hopes for 2022 as she appeared on the breakfast TV show with her eldest son Harvey.

“I just want to focus on myself,” she said. “I’m just going to be healthy, I’m going to see a therapist.”

Fourth time lucky, Price said she has found “The One” with her partner Carl Woods and they plan to have children together.

For the first time, she has set her heart on taking his surname despite being well known as Katie Price.

On her plans for 2022, she said: “Babies, marriage, I want everything. I have definitely found the one with Carl.”

She entered guilty pleas on September 29 to charges of drink-driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

The reality star was handed a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12months, with 100-hours of community service and up to 30 rehab sessions.
