Katy Perry gives birth to first child with Orlando Bloom
Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who have become parents to a newborn daughter.
The couple announced the happy news through UNICEF's social media accounts with a photo of the new parents holding the finger of their baby, Daisy Dove.
What an adorable name!
"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the couple said in a statement.
"But we know we're the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every 11 seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies."
The statement continued: "Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of... lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever."
The couple, who are UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, have set up a donation page in celebration of Daisy's birth to help the charity continue to ensure expecting mothers have "access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare".

They added: "By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child.
"We hope your love can bloom with generosity."
At the beginning of March, Perry announced her pregnancy through a music video called 'Never Worn White' and later revealed that they were having a baby girl with a cute reveal on Instagram.
Daisy, who is the first child for the 'Chained to the Rhythm' star, has a half-brother, Flynn, who Bloom shares with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
