Katy Perry has admitted to searching for photos of herself on the internet after "feeling insecure".

This week on Instagram, she posted a throwback photo of herself in a sports bra and joked that it was the cover of her fourth album as an April Fool's gag, then followed it up with some close-up photos of a face massage.

And those posts seemed to have an effect on Katy.

"Was feeling insecure about my last two posts so," she wrote on a screengrab of a photo of herself with "katy perry hot" seen in the search bar above the photo.

The photo was taken as part of her 2011 Rolling Stone cover shoot and her fans have been quick to point out that Katy has nothing to be insecure about, with the post already getting more than 500,000 likes.

In fact, some fans were more worried that her phone battery was at 13%.

Last month, it was revealed that Katy will be playing this year's Glastonbury, although she won't be headlining like she is at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

She has also been reflecting on her strict religious upbringing, revealing that she tried to "pray the gay away" at Jesus camps, but her "bubble started to burst" when she met people outside of the camps.

"I know it doesn't always feel safe to live out who you are but, here's the thing, I would have not chosen a different road. Priceless lessons have been learnt," Katy explained.

Her new track 'Chained to the Rhythm' was released in February.
