Sky news presenter Kay Burley praises London as ‘best city in the world’ after suffering 'episode' on Tube

News anchor Kay Burley has praised London as “best city in the world” after suffering an “episode” on the Tube before passengers and staff rushed to her aid.

The Sky News presenter is said to have suffered a dizzy spell while on the London Underground near Knightsbridge on Friday afternoon.

After the incident she tweeted a picture of herself grinning while sat with a Transport for London staff member.

She wrote: “My immeasurable thanks to Sasha from @transportforlondon and the wonderful passengers who came to my aid when I had a little episode on the train today.

“Feeling much better now. People are so lovely. Best city in the world.”

Dozens of her 413,000 followers replied with messages of support.

One wrote: “Hope you are feeling better Kay. Having worked with Sasha, you couldn’t have asked for a better colleague to help you.”

“Londoners are wonderful! So glad you are feeling better,” added another.

One Twitter user said: "Glad you're feeling better Kay. Take care. And you're right, most people are so lovely."

"Take care Kay and hope you are feeling 100% soon. In these mad times you are a breath of positivity in our screens," said another.

Nigel Holness, managing director of the London Underground, said: “We’d like to thank our staff member Sasha and the customers who helped Kay Burley today on a train at Knightsbridge station today.

"The care of our customers is of the utmost importance to us. We hope Kay is feeling better and enjoys her weekend.”

Earlier today Ms Burley was criticised by Twitter users after she posted a photo of a credit card that had been accidentally left on a Piccadilly line train.

In recent weeks the presenter has also received loud abuse from pro-Brexit activists during broadcasts from the Houses of Parliament.
