Shakespeare's famed tragic love story Romeo and Juliet is about to get updated again, and has gathered some impressive faces to retell it.

Die in a Gunfight – which sounds a lot more terrifying – will be set in the high-stakes world of corporate espionage and will no doubt be just as heartbreaking.

The star-crossed lovers, Ben and Mary, will be played by The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Kaya Scodelario, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) and Helen Hunt (As Good as it Gets) have also signed on to star in the retelling, which is set to begin filming next month.

Collin Schiffli is on directing duties and the Ant-Man and the Wasp screenwriters Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari have penned the script.

"We are delighted to assemble a top tier cast and creative team to bring this vibrant and passionate film to life," producer Mark Gordon announced.

"Showcasing exhilarating action and timeless emotional themes, Die in a Gunfight will surely resonate with audiences around the world."

Elsewhere, Kaya can next be seen in the final instalment of The Maze Runner franchise The Death Cure, which just revealed its first trailer.

Production was halted and the movie's release date pushed back a year after Dylan O'Brien was seriously injured while filming on set in Canada in 2016, but the film will finally arrive in cinemas on January 26, 2018.
