Kayakers Navigate Flooded Streets in Harlingen, Texas

Heavy rain from an overnight storm sparked flash flooding in southern Texas on June 25, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service of Brownsville said rainfall reached 10 to 12 inches in several counties.

The Texas Game Warden said on June 25 that it rescued more than 60 people and 15 pets from the floodwaters. The storm caused power outages that affected around 37,300 people by the morning of June 25, according to American Electric Power, a power supplier in Texas.
