Kayakers Paddle Along in Flooded Gulf Shores Streets in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sally

Drone footage captured kayakers paddling along flooded streets in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sally on September 16.

The National Hurricane Center said Sally made landfall as a Category 2 storm near Gulf Shores and would bring “historic and catastrophic flooding in parts of northwest Florida and southern Alabama.” Sally was downgraded to a tropical storm after it made landfall.

Gulf Shores resident John David Swiger captured the video and told Storyful his home has five inches of flood damage and he is currently without power. Credit: John David Swiger via Storyful
