Kayakers Row Down Flooded Street in Charleston

At least two Charlestonians used an unorthodox mode of transportation along the flooded streets of the South Carolina city, which was swamped with rain from Hurricane Dorian in the early hours of September 5.

This footage, courtesy of Zach Hough and Brandon Hughes, shows the “Cajun Navy, Charleston Division,” as the voice in the video puts it, kayaking in the storm.

As of 11 am on Thursday, September 5, Dorian was a Category 3 storm, moving at 8 mph with winds reaching 110 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. Credit: Zach Hough and Brandon Hughes via Storyful
