Eve Myles's Keeping Faith finally made its premiere on BBC One on Thursday (July 12), after becoming one of the year's surprise hits on iPlayer.
The mystery thriller was a huge hit for S4C and the BBC in its native Wales late last year, but had been relegated to the Beeb's on-demand service until its popularity suddenly surged earlier this year.
The BBC later arranged for Keeping Faith to air in primetime over the summer, so the entire nation could catch up with the show that became the best-kept secret in Welsh telly.
Former Torchwood star Eve Myles takes the title role as a solicitor and new mum whose husband disappears without a trace shortly after the birth of their third child.
Her husband's disappearance forces Faith back to work even as she searches for clues about his whereabouts, but she quickly discovers that the man she married was living a double life.
The first episode got an overwhelmingly positive reception on Thursday night from BBC One viewers:

Digital Spy chatted with star Eve Myles about the surprising success of Keeping Faith recently, and she credited the job with convincing her not to give up acting.
"I'd just been on Broadchurch, actually, and that was great, but at that point, I was quite disillusioned actually with the business and my job," she remembered. "I kept turning down work because I found it disinteresting. I had nothing in me, to be honest. I was a bit passionless.
"I was trying to sign up to train as a midwife! I haven't told anyone that. My husband knows!
"So yeah, I was considering a big change, because... I don't know. I was finding it all a little same-y. I thought, 'Maybe I was very unhappy with work. Maybe I need a change'.
"So I considered [quitting]. I'm the type of character who likes to be challenged, and I wasn't being challenged. Then this came through, and I thought, 'What bigger challenge would I have?'
"Even if this job was just in English, it would have been a huge challenge to play Faith Howells. Already, it was huge – and it was in two languages.
"I thought to myself, 'In five years' time, if I look back at this, and somebody else played this part and I didn't give it a go, I'm going to be desperately unhappy with myself. I don't know if I can live with that. Because I know this is a good piece'."
Keeping Faith continues next Thursday (July 19) at 9pm on BBC One, and Eve Myles will soon return for a second series as well.
