Keir Starmer 'won't be a good Prime Minister', say two-thirds of CambridgeshireLive readers

CambridgeshireLive readers have said that newly elected Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will not be good in the role, even though Labour took a landslide victory at the polls. Almost two-thirds, 61%, of readers answered 'no' when asked ' Do you believe Sir Keir Starmer will do a good job as Prime Minister?' at the time of writing.

Prior to the election, the Conservatives held six of the then-seven seats in the county. Despite our poll results, Cambridgeshire voted in three Labour MPs; Daniel Zeichner retained his seat in Cambridge, and the country's youngest MP, Sam Carling, took North West Cambridgeshire with Andrew Pakes, who took Peterborough from the Conservatives.

South Cambridgeshire was taken by Pippa Heylings alongside fellow Lib Dems Charlotte Cane, in Ely and East Cambridgeshire, and Ian Sollom, in the newly formed constituency of St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire. Conservative Steve Barclay retained his seat in North East Cambridgeshire and Ben Obese-Jecty kept Huntingdon in Tory control after Jonathan Djanogly stood down.
