Keith Lemon Finally Explains Why He Wears Bandage

Keith Lemon has supposedly explained his decision to always wear a bandage on his right hand saying that it covers a rather questionable tattoo.

He said recently: “I often wear a bandage on my wrist as I have a rather unorthodox tattoo right there and while I would argue it is a lively form of artistic expression, unfortunately most television producers tend to disagree.”

“Over the years my bandage has become part of who I am and I always carry a spare in my pocket.

Adding: "Girls are forever coming up and asking me how I’ve hurt myself.”

The bandage has confused his fans for years and left them wondering why he is never seen without it.

Keith has previously joked in the past that it’s nothing more than a fashion statement, speaking on Chris Moyles’ Xfm show, the star explained:

“Obviously there’s nowt wrong with my hand whatsoever, but it’s artistic expression, like when Nelly wears a plaster on his cheek.”

However, it’s more likely that the bandage is used by Keith’s creator - comedian Leigh Francis to signal when he is in character.

Notably, appearing as himself as the BAFTAs over the weekend the bandage was nowhere to be seen.

Leigh Francis collected the Entertainment Performance BAFTA for Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice beating off the likes of Graham Norton and Stephen Fry.
