Kelly Clarkson: Country Singer Is Pregnant

Original American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson has announced she is expecting her first child.

The 31-year-old singer told Twitter that she and husband Brandon Blackstock have been given the "best early Christmas present ever".

Clarkson and Blackstock were married last month.

Blackstock is the son of Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock, who manages the country star and her close friend Blake Shelton.

He has two children from a previous marriage.

There has been no confirmation of when the baby is due.
