Kelly Clarkson slammed a Twitter troll after they tweeted "no wonder her marriage didn't work" after she took over Simon Cowell's America's Got Talent gig as a guest judge.

Cowell is currently recovering from breaking part of his back while testing out an electric bike and recently underwent hours of surgery.

He thanked Clarkson for taking his place as a judge on the show for the time being. Cowell thanked the 'Stronger' singer by tweeting, "Thank you Kelly Clarkson. Miss all of you. What a great show.”

But one person on Twitter wasn't feeling as thankful.

One user tweeted, "Now Kelly is taking Simon's place...no wonder her marriage didn't work...surprise she has time for her kids."

They went on to write that the American Idol winner was "not the good old country girl we fell in love with...it's all about Kelly being on tv...and no one else...no tears for her...but for her kids."

Kelly quickly responded to the tweet by writing, "Wow. Shaming a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mom, and who steps up and fills in when a friends asks for a favor because that’s actually what “good old country girls” do.... this can’t be who you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart. Aim higher please."

Clarkson's fans were impressed and encouraging, with one writing, "Queen of providing for her family and spreading kindness while she's at it. You have never changed and that's why people love you. Sad that some people find negativity in that!"

Clarkson announced that she was splitting from her husband Brandon Blackstock in June after almost seven years of marriage.
