Here’s What Kelly Ripa Really Thinks About Mark Consuelos’s 3-Month Quarantine for ‘Riverdale’

Kelly Ripa is getting candid about what it’s really like being away from her husband, Mark Consuelos, who is currently quarantining in Canada as he films Riverdale season five.

The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 49, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow to promote her partnership with Persona Nutrition. Ripa revealed that while she can’t see her husband for another two months due to social distancing, it’s nothing compared to their typical schedules.

“We are very used to it,” she told PureWow. “We’re used to spending a great deal of time apart because he's always worked somewhere else in another state, another country. I married an actor, and I used to be an actor, so it sorta comes with the territory.”

While it’s tough to be apart, Ripa is “grateful” for the time she spent with Consuelos and their three children—Michael (23), Lola (19) and Joaquin (17)—during the coronavirus pandemic.

“What we didn’t expect was that we would be able to spend so much time together, where he wasn’t going back and forth to work,” she explained. “So, we had about five months of quality time together every day with our children—our adult children.”

Despite the valuable family time, Ripa admitted that she’s thankful her children are grown and, therefore, don’t need her help with schoolwork.

“We also felt fortunate that our kids are too old and too advanced in their schooling to come to us for help,” she said. “So, we did not have that added pressure. My friends who have younger kids, they were pulling their hair out. They did not know how to help their children with school. And I aged out of helping my kids at school a decade ago.”

Let the countdown to Consuelos’s return commence.
