Yahoo News Kelsey Grammer drops big plot hints about Frasier revival
Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has shared a few more details about the kind of direction he's going in with his revival series plans, and it looks like Frasier Crane's son Frederick could have a key role to play.
In a recent chat with People Now (via Today.com), the actor shared that he's still hearing pitches for what a revival series could be about, but added that he's particularly drawn to storylines that catch up with Frederick's life.
"I've been listening to a few pitches, all of which I liked," Grammer said. "There's a couple of other writers that I respect that I want to hear and then we're probably going to make a move in the next month or two.
"There's a lot of different destinies that people have hatched for Frederick and, yeah, surely he needs to be part of the show.

"I like the one where Frederick actually ends up being more like Martin Crane, instead of Frasier. I'm sort of drawn to that. We've had the pitch where he was tortured and didn't know what his identity was, all sorts of stuff," he added.
"And I thought, 'No, I think his granddad is who he became', and I really like that, so we'll see what happens."
Frederick was born in a Cheers episode, and later appeared in several episodes of Frasier, where he was played by different actors as the series explored his changing relationship with his father.
By the time the series went off-air in 2004, Frederick was 15 years old and played by actor Trevor Einhorn.
Grammer previously opened up about his plans for the revival series during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Cordenearlier this month, where he teased that it will be "a different story, basically".
"Same group of characters but in a different setting. Something has changed in their lives," he continued. "Certainly, John Mahoney died over a year ago and we would probably deal with that a little bit, with dad being gone."
So there's no script at the moment, and there's no network attached to the project just yet either, but it sounds like everything's all coming together nicely behind the scenes. We'll take that.
