Kent’s best Indian takeaway praised for its 'amazing and flavoursome food'
Indian cuisine has a variety of delicious dishes with rich and diverse flavours. And while eating at a restaurant offers a unique experience, there’s something truly comforting about enjoying a takeaway meal at home.
It is important to pick the right venue as it can impact your dining experience. Lucky for you, you won’t need to look far as Humayra in Northwood Drive in Sittingbourne picked up the Best Indian Takeaway in Kent at this year’s Euro Asia Curry Awards.
The restaurant aims to “offer an exquisite selection” of Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine to enjoy “at the comfort of your home”. It reads on its website: “We continuously endeavour to improve and redefine traditional recipes using only the finest ingredients.

“The emphasis is on exacting quality and the masterful fusion of the traditional with a modern approach to culinary flavours, for you to enjoy at the comfort of your own home.”
The takeaway features a number of traditional dishes such as chicken tikka (£10.90), Tandoori King Prawn (£18.90), Chicken or Lamb Shashlik (£12.90) and many more. It also offers Bangladeshi dishes including Batak Lajawab (£12.90) which consists of tender pieces of lean duck cooked with onions, green peppers, and tomatoes.
It also serves Bengal Fry (£13,90) which is Bengal fish marinated with chef’s special spice and grilled with onions, green peppers and tomatoes. With a 4.5-star rating on TripAdvisor, people have praised the venue for the quality of its food.
One person said: “Beautiful food. I think it’s the best Indian takeaway I’ve had here, fantastic, thank you. I’ve been wanting to try here for a while and I won’t be going anywhere else now.”
Another said: “It’s not even our closest Indian takeaway (we live in Faversham) but worth the little bit of extra travel. The food is amazing. Always very flavoursome, you can taste the quality. Service here is also always excellent, staff have always been very polite and friendly.”
Hundreds of businesses and individuals were nominated for the awards. Around 50 regional and national winners were chosen and received their gongs at a ceremony at Mayfair in Romford, London.
